New printer? - no canons in the u.s. print on cd/dvd without modification that may void your warranty. that said once the mods are done on the models that print cd/dvd elsewhere, they print very nicely on cd/dvd :-) i'm not a fan of the new canon chipped cartridges though .. too much like epsons. maybe look at the hp cd/dvd capable printers?

Sony DVD+R for data and then it has an RW sign right below it??!!!
The RW is just a logo for the DVD+RW Aliance (in charge of both the +R and +RW spec).

I'd be very careful about that. Unless it's set up correctly output from the computer may look nothing like output from a DVD player. Use DVD+RW discs for testing.... Video Bitrate - Keep in mind that CRF=24 is not a standard of any sort for good quality and file size - in fact, there isn't one. The "standard" is what you yourself are happy with. :)
Some of us are willing to pay more bitrate for something like CRF=21, and some of us are happy with the quality at CRF=26 for tiny file sizes. It's totally subjective. But I' ... Cat... FML VGA to FML 2 3 pin XLR, L R Rca Audio, Composite BNC, S-video Breakout - I have a few of thes Breakout cables and have searched my bum off on the internet, hours and hours, days and days. It depends on the source prior to encoding hackjob done on it so far. It can be fixed. You'll never get the richness of tone back, but you can suppress the feeling that you're listening to a tv through a door.

It might be a mod16 issue (i.e. 700 is not evenly divisible by 16); so you might try re-encoding & resizing to 704x320. You could test it by encoding the 1st minute in vdub , for example , and it would only take a minute to test it out.... aspect ratio question/does this make sense? - bummer and thanks it looks like i have some more planning to do.... 1. Field order problem? & 2. How to fix? - Everything worked out well, the video looks fantastic now!
